Spending time at Hosachiguru Farms was an experience that left a lasting impression on our family. It wasn’t just a holiday but a refreshing retreat—a chance to connect with nature, each other, and a slower way of life. Let us share a glimpse of our journey.
From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the peaceful atmosphere. The farms felt like a world away from the rush of city life, offering a quiet escape where we could truly relax. Whether lying under the shade of a tree, or wandering through the fields, every moment felt refreshing and meaningful.
A highlight of our stay was the machan, a raised platform that gave us a beautiful view of the surrounding greenery. It became our go-to spot for family time, where we shared conversations, laughter, and quiet moments together. Sitting there, surrounded by nature, we felt a deep sense of connection—both with each other and the land around us.
The kids had the best time exploring the farm on bicycles at Bristlecone Farms. These small moments made us realize the beauty of simplicity.
The activities on the farm were engaging yet unhurried. From indoor games to casual strolls, we felt free to enjoy everything at our own pace. The staff added to the experience with their warmth and hospitality, making sure we were comfortable and well looked after throughout our stay.
Another aspect we loved was the food. Prepared by local chefs, the meals were simple, delicious, and full of traditional flavors. Sitting outdoors and enjoying these wholesome meals felt like an extension of the farm-to-table experience Hosachiguru stands for.
The serene views at Dhaanvi Farms were unforgettable—whether it was watching the sunrise or stargazing in the evenings. These moments reminded us to pause and appreciate the simple pleasures of life.
One of the most meaningful parts of our visit was planting trees on our own plot.
Owning farmland at both Dhaanvi and Bristlecone has been a rewarding journey. Over time, we’ve learned about farming practices, nurtured plants, and grown to appreciate the effort it takes to cultivate the land.
Hosachiguru Farms has become a second home to us, and we’re excited to continue this journey and create even more memories at Hosachiguru Farms.
Everybody’s story begins with “once upon a time” and it’s up to an individual to cherish the time given and build something to ensure happily ever after.
This is the story of Bhaskar, co-founder of a tech startup living in urban Bangalore. Buried in excel sheets and meeting deadlines, Bhaskar always thought of creating a second home for his family. But building something like that can be a tough decision as numerous crucial points need to be evaluated. After doing the due research, Bhaskar found out about Hoschiguru. Along with being a co-founder, he also became a co-farmer at Hosachiguru. He chose to grow his food forest. He not only built a legacy for his children but also made a sustainable haven for his parents. With Hosachiguru’s food forest, he is also contributing to the environment in a bigger picture. With this investment, Bhaskar can create, nurture and restore the natural biodiversity and ecology. He doesn’t have to free up his schedule to supervise what is happening on the farm. With smart technology- MyFarm app, he can get the reports, ask experts and monitor the yields from his phone, based in real-time.
Modern family life can be stressful and chaotic with various pressures on families. It’s not always easy. Nurturing the physical, emotional, and social development of children can be an uphill battle when you are stuck at work all day. With his sustainable food forest, he has gained something far more valuable- quality time with his family. This has given him a chance to strengthen the bond between himself and his children. The family has indulged in a variety of activities at the farm which has cemented their relationships. The time together has positively impacted the whole family. Bhaskar has felt a change in his personality, life choices, and overall behavior. Not only in his personal life but also in his professional life he is going that extra mile to achieve his goals. Taking some time off and spending it in the Hosachiguru farms has also impacted the strength of their social, physical, mental, and emotional health. This venture had something or the other for his whole family.
Bhaskar has ensured a happily ever after, for his family, you can too. Think about it!
Hi Srinath,
On behalf of my family, I would like to heartily thank the entire Hosachiguru team, for a wonderful and memorable stay at Bristlecone!
My experience with Hosachiguru so far, has been nothing less than phenomenal! Right from the time I was referred to you by a good friend, my first interaction with Vidya a few months ago, to our stay there last weekend. I don’t know if you recruit people who are so friendly or train them to be so, but whatever the case may be, you guys are doing a fantastic job, to make us feel like part of a larger family.
Bristlecone was impeccable in terms of location, maintenance and staff. It was more than any five-star resort could offer. It was just a feeling of bliss to be in the midst of nature and yet have our basic needs taken care of.
For the children, they experienced something really out of their world; they learn to be a part of and live in tandem with nature – something that enhances their life skills and moulds them into better individuals. Can’t wait for Abhivrudhi to reach this stage, with the expansion and development plans in store.
We visited Eco Habitat as well, on our way back. Your agronomists there are so full of knowledge and ever willing to share their learnings. The proximity of Eco Habitat to the city, makes it a perfect weekend getaway, tucked amidst nature.
Last but not the least, the scrumptious meals that were cooked with mostly organically grown ingredients, in our very own gardens, was the cherry on the cake.
All in all, a wholesome experience for all age groups. Looking forward to moving there, in the next few years and leading the simple but rich life that nature has to offer. Thanks to Hosachiguru, for making this dream a reality and for bringing nature closer to the masses, efficiently, honestly and delightfully.
Best Regards,
The Rathinam family.
Reya Pravin, a nine year old studying 4th Grade in Vidyashilp Academy, visited Bristlecone farm on 6th Sept’20 along with her parents and little brother Dhiwyanshu. Reya shared her experience visiting the farm in her own cute and innocent words. Read her story below.
“It was a Saturday night that my papa and mumma were planning to go for a farm visit. My parents told me about it and I was super excited. The next morning me and my family woke up early and got ready to go to the farm. We had a quick breakfast and started the journey to the farm.
On the way, we tried to take a short but it was a wrong turn and we saw a big pit in the middle of the shortcut road. We had to return back to the main road and we lost some crucial time. It took more than 2 hours to reach there. We learnt an important lesson ‘NEVER TAKE SHORT CUTS IN LIFE, ALWAYS USE THE RIGHT ROAD’. Then we reached the Bristlecone Hosachiguru farm.
Wow! There were so many trees everywhere and the climate was amazing.
My brother touched a 15 days old calf named ‘Bheema’ and I touched a bull named Krishna, who was very calm, cool and quiet.
There was a lovely cottage and we met Shriram uncle. He gave us a tour of the farm. First, we went to see the teak and sandalwood plantation. I learnt that the sandalwood tree needs support from friendly parasitic tree for its growth. I also learnt about micro climate. Under the sun, it is hot like summer and under the tree shade, it is cool as winter.
Later, we went to a garden and there were fresh vegetables. We were told that we had the same vegetables for lunch which was so very tasty. We saw different kinds of vegetables namely: ladies fingers, palak, chillies and tomatoes. After lunch, we went to our cottage to take some rest.
I watched a movie with my brother after that we went to see the nursery where all the plants were kept, and there were 2 dogs named, ‘Bruno and Bullet’ and I was really scared.
I also saw the farm tank and PIPE DRIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM. Also, we took many photos and it was tea time. We all had wonderful milk, and others had tea and coffee. The most wonderful thing was me and my brother got to plant saplings, its name was ‘SANTALUM ALBUM’ also known as ‘SANDALWOOD’.
I LEARNT THAT THE FOOD COMES FROM A FARMER AND EVERY FARMER IS LIKE A GOD. THIS WAS THE BEST DAY EVER. I WILL MAKE A VISIT AGAIN AS I HAD A LOT OF WONDERFUL MEMORIES.”
