The Hosachiguru community actively attempts to incorporate sustainable practices at every step in the journey. The impact of our Farmplots and the lifestyle it inspires is far-reaching, bringing about visible short-term and long-term changes around us. We believe in taking care of the Earth and contributing to the principles of fair share.
Every year, 8 million acres of forest area is lost around the world. Together we've planted over 134843 trees in our drive to replenish carbon sinks.
One worker bee spends his entire life just to produce 1/12th teaspoon of honey.
Flora & Fauna
Every species plays a crucial role in the ecosystem. Rapid urbanisation and concrete jungles have seen a decrease in local flora and fauna. Farm plots not only help preserve existing species but also create ecosystems for several species of flora and fauna to make a comeback.
India's farms are shrinking by 74,000 acres every year.
Huge tracts of arable land have been degraded due to exploitation of agriculture & urbanisation. Our Farm Plots are set up to ensure that the land is an eternal food source and a place for human habitation for generations to come.
Farmers will have to grow 100% more food to feed the world by 2050.
By improving soil health through organic practices such as permaculture, regenerative agriculture , and sustainable principles.
Loss of soil fertility, ground water table, global warming and several other factors are forcing rural farmers to migrate to urban areas in search of income. Farmplots help mitigate this trend. We have created livelihoods for more than 500 families.
Grow your own food
The majority of products sold in stores go through a long process of being harvested, shipped, and distributed. Once distributed, the produce can end up staying in storage or on the shelf for an extended period before being purchased, losing nutritional value. When growing your own food, your diet is more diverse and healthy, packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Food in its rawest, freshest form is not only the tastiest way to enjoy it but also the most nutritional.
The demand for Timber in India is roughly 150 million cubic metres per year. To meet this demand, we largely rely on imports. Not only do Farmplots help meet the demand for timber, but it's also easing the increasing pressure on our forests.
Sustainability & Health
Farm Plots have wide-ranging positive effects on physical, and mental health. A pollution-free environment helps increase lung function. Outdoor activities reduce stress and improve health by reducing blood pressure and preventing heart diseases.
